Got Heel Pain When You Walk?
Heel pain can really impact your life, and it’s not just because you can no longer waltz around in high heels. That tingling or incessant burning sensation can not only derail your daily jog, but it can also make it hard for you to walk — period. You may find it hard to get up and take those first few steps every morning, or you hobble home from work each evening with more pain than you had in the morning.
Reasons for Foot Pain While Walking
1. Plantar Fasciitis
Plantar fasciitis is an inflammation of the plantar fascia, a thick band of tissue that runs along the bottoms of your feet.
2. Calluses
Calluses are thick layers of skin that form on body parts subjected to constant friction, such as the bottoms of your feet. They resemble flaky or hard patches of thick, yellowish skin. If they are very thick, they can cause pain when walking.
3. Metatarsalgia
Painful inflammation of the ball of your foot is known as metatarsalgia.
Participating in activities that involve running and jumping can cause the condition. It can also be caused by wearing poorly fitting shoes or having a foot deformity.
4. Morton’s Neuroma
Morton's neuroma is a thickening of the tissue that surrounds the nerve that leads to your toes in the ball of your foot. It is usually caused by nerve irritation, pressure, or trauma between the third and fourth toes.
